About Clem Turner

Clem Turner is an EB-5 corporate and securities attorney who practices with Barst Mukamal & Kleiner, LLP. Located in New York City, Barst Mukamal & Kleiner is one of the oldest immigration firms in the United States. His practice concentrates on entrepreneurial law (which includes capital finance), corporate law, business transactional law, and private and public securities law. Attorney Turner has applied his deep understanding of these areas to EB-5 capital raises. He has advised numerous regional centers and corporations seeking EB-5 capital for a number of industries, including technology, retail, hospitality, hospitals and medical facilities, manufacturing, food services, and senior and assisted living. Attorney Turner has handled over one hundred EB-5 transactions since 2010 with an aggregate deal valuation of more than $1 billion.

Attorney Turner has broad corporate and business law experience, garnered from his time as counsel at boutique and large law firms. He specialized in Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions when he started his legal career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He counseled clients regarding private venture capital fundraisings, public corporate financings, and business combinations as an associate in the Business & Technology group of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP. Attorney Turner then managed both the legal and operational responsibilities as the head of business and legal affairs at two growing media companies. Thereafter he advised clients on wide ranging business and transactional matters when serving as counsel at a boutique law firm. Attorney Turner’s range of legal and executive experience enables him to provide clients with reasoned, sound legal advice with a footing in practical market and business concerns.

Attorney Turner frequently speaks at EB-5 events and seminars, sharing his thorough knowledge of the EB-5 industry across the United States and internationally. Attorney Turner has published several articles related to EB-5 and he has been interviewed about the EB-5 program by various media sources, including NPR’s Marketplace. Clem is a respected member of the EB-5 trade association, “Invest in the USA” (IIUSA), and currently serves on its Public Policy Committee and heads its Securities Law Sub-Committee.

Attorney Turner earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Princeton University and his legal degree from Georgetown University Law School. He was the executive editor of the American Criminal Law Review while at Georgetown Law. He is licensed to practice law in California and New York.
