Clifford Lipscomb is the vice chairman and co-managing director at Greenfield Advisors, where he provides strategy and research assistance technology, economics, property valuation, real estate and big data issues.

Lipscomb is a chartered valuation surveyor experienced in economic and statistical analysis, survey design, consulting and teaching.

He also is a managing director of Greenfield’s Bartow Street Capital LLC, where he oversees all activities of Bartow Street Capital, including strategic advisory, capital raising, and mergers and acquisitions work. Lipscomb is also the managing director of Greenfield’s software development entity, AVM Analytics LLC.

Prior, he worked as a marketing and economics professor at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga., and a director for the Center for Business and Economic Research. He has also worked as a visiting assistant professor for George Mason University’s School of Public Policy in Fairfax, Va. Prior to his work in academia, Lipscomb was an economist for the Regional Economic Analysis Division of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis in Washington, D.C., where he was part of the trilateral negotiation team formed by the NAFTA treaty that created the North American Product Classification System for real estate-related goods and services.

Lipscomb work have been featured in academic journals such as the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics and Economic Development Quarterly. He is an associate editor for Journal of Real Estate Literature and an industry board member of the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate. His published pieces have been awarded three Best Paper awards from the American Real Estate Society, one Best Refereed Paper award from the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society and earned the Council for Community and Economic Research Excellence Award for Research That Supports Business Development for his work identifying future land purchases for the Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority. He is also the winner of the 2014 International Association of Assessing Officers’ Bernard L. Barnard Outstanding Technical Essay Award. He is the chair of the Technical Advisory Board of the ACCRA Cost of Living Index and on the Board of Directors of the Global Diversity Summit for Commercial Real Estate, Inc.

His research activities include expert witness testimony, automated valuation model development and economic impact analyses.

Lipscomb has bachelor degrees in economics and sociology from Berry College in Georgia, and a doctoral degree in public policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
