Eric E. Santa Maria is a partner of Verdeja De Armas Trujillo LLP in Coral Gables, Florida. Santa Maria has over 14 years’ experience in accounting and taxation of individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts and exempt organizations.
Santa Maria is a Certified Public Accountant in Florida and holds the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensic (CFF) credentials from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Santa Maria is experienced in valuing businesses and practices in matters such as estate and gift tax planning, matrimonial disputes, business disputes and shareholder buy-outs. Santa Maria is qualified as an expert witness and has provided oral testimony in Miami-Dade and Broward County Civil court.
Santa Maria utilizes his experience and tax knowledge to represent clients with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other state or local tax authorities. He has worked with clients in matters such as tax examinations and collections to lower assessed tax penalties, negotiate favorable payment terms and settle outstanding tax debts.
Santa Maria is an IRS Certified Acceptance Agent (CAA), assisting nonresident aliens and other foreign taxpayers in expediting their requests for taxpayer identification numbers directly from the IRS. Fluent in English and Spanish, Santa Maria serves international tax clients and EB-5 investors across Europe and Latin America with tax planning and compliance.
Santa Maria has served on the Board of the Cuban American Certified Public Accounting Association and now serves on the Miami Board of Directors of ALPFA, the Association of Latino Professionals For America. Santa Maria’s civic involvement further includes serving as a Family Council Member with the March of Dimes.
