How does citizenship by investment in cyprus work?

I am a Chinese student applying to colleges in the United States and Europe in 2 years. My parents are learning about immigration options via investment to the United States. Recently our consultant told us about Cyprus immigration program if we invest in real estate. What are the rules of the program and would I be able to study in the UK as a citizen of Cyprus?

To Whom It May Concern Regarding your email below, I would like to inform you of the following: Under the Cyprus Passport Investment Scheme, the investor and his/her family can obtain a Cyprus Passport given that the applicant invests the minimum amount of €2,000,000 plus VAT (if any) in real estate properties. The children have the right to acquire a Cyprus Passport given that they are under the age of 28 and they are still students. As soon as the investment has been made, the applicants can apply for a Cyprus Passport and a Permanent Residency at the same time. The applicant must come to Cyprus for at least one day in order to do the biometric measures for the Permanent Residency (P.R.) card to be issued. The P.R. card can be ready within 3 days. The Cyprus Passport Approval Letter can be issued within 3 months from the day the applicant applies and the actual Passport can be acquired 6 months after you get the Permanent Residency Card. It is a very straight forward procedure. Regarding your question about studying in the UK, please note that Cyprus has the same commonwealth system as the UK. Of course you can study in the UK with a Cyprus Passport. For any questions and/or concerns that you may have please do not hesitate to contact us at any time. We remain at your disposal.
