Michelle L Jacko is an EB-5 corporate and securities attorney, and the managing partner and CEO of Jacko Law Group, PC. Based in San Diego, Calif., her firm provides corporate and securities legal services to investment advisers, broker-dealers, financial professionals, and hedge/private funds. Attorney Jacko focuses her practice on contracts, testing of compliance programs, corporate and compliance risk management, policies and procedures, separation agreements, and more. She has expertise in the formation of broker-dealer and investment advisory firms, mergers and acquisitions, development of private and hedge funds, and providing investment counsel on securities law and regulatory compliance.
Jacko Law Group, PC, provides securities and corporate counsel to broker-dealers, registered representatives, and participants involved in the EB-5 space. Attorney Jacko and her team have assisted firms with broker-dealer formations, provided business counsel regarding the implications of FINRA regulations on the EB-5 process, represented firms during FINRA examinations, and assisted in all aspects of the deal process. She has extensive experience handling EB-5 securities documents, such as developing suitability procedures (Reg D and Reg S), writing supervisory procedures, creating regulatory business plans, drafting foreign finder’s agreements, and much more.
In addition to her work at Jacko Law Group, Attorney Jacko is the CEO and the founder of a compliance consultation firm, Core Compliance & Legal Services, Inc. Her prior experience includes, but is not limited to, serving as of counsel at Shustak & Partners, PC, as the home office supervision team branch manager and the vice president of compliance at LPL Financial Services, as the chief compliance officer and legal counsel of investments at First American Trust, FSB, and as Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management’s compliance manager. She graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law with her Juris Doctor, and from the University of San Diego with her Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations.
Attorney Jacko is admitted to the California State Bar, along with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. She is actively involved in the Corporations Committee of the California State Bar, and the ABA’s Business Law Section. She also serves on the San Diego County Bar Association’s Advisory Board of the Business & Corporate Law Section, and is co-founder and chair of the speaker’s bureau of the Southern California Compliance Group. Attorney Jacko has been designated as a Certified Securities Compliance Professional by the National Society of Compliance Professionals, and was a two-term board member for the Society. She is a section member of the FINRA Board of Arbitrators, and she regularly contributes to industry journals and presents at conferences nationwide.
