LAM NYC EB-5 Fund, LLC (LAM EB-5) was approved as a USCIS-designated EB-5 Regional Center on February 5, 2013. LAM EB-5 is located in New York City, the most dynamic and vibrant city in the world, and as a regional center, provides immigrant investors an opportunity to obtain permanent residency in the United States through investments in the Lam Group’s real estate projects.
LAM EB-5 is affiliated with Lam Group, which acts as a comprehensive real estate investment firm and develops, operates, and earns office, hotel, and residential properties. Lam Group has 17 years of hotel development experience, which has led to a current hotel portfolio worth approximately $1 billion. Lam Group also owns a management company employing over 1,200 individuals and managing annual gross revenue of over $150 million. Due to these factors, Lam Group is considered a preeminent hotel developer and owner in New York City. Lam Group are not investors of their own capital, as many firms are, but are rather interested in making investments with a sight for the long term; as such, they hope not to be susceptible to the cyclical swings of the market, and to be sustainable for future generations. With a portfolio of 11 operating hotels with seven more hotels currently in development, Lam Group is the largest privately held hotel company in New York City. John Lam serves as the principal, managing director, chairman, and chief executive officer for the Lam Group. Mr. Lam leads in the Lam Group in its real estate development, and is well-known in New York’s fashion, hotel, and real estate industries, and has been quoted by numerous magazines about these industries within New York. In 1990, Mr. Lam was selected by Crain’s New York Business Magazine as an All-Star. In 1997, he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor Award for exemplifying a life dedicated to the American way, while still preserving the values of Chinese heritage. In 2006, the Chinese-American Planning Council presented him with the Man of the Year Award for his grassroots community work in social services.
Joseph Yi is the director of Lam Group, and leads them in structuring different aspects of real estate transactions, including financing, joint ventures, sales, and acquisitions. Mr. Yi uses his experience in multiple disciplines and his legal background to bring a comprehensive approach to all his transactions, through overseeing the deals from opening to conclusion. He also oversees the legal affairs of Lam Group as general counsel.
