Department of State Provides Data on EB-5 Visa Usage

Kate Kalmykov

It appears that we are slowly creeping towards a future where the EB-5 visa category may become exhausted.  On July 11, 2012, Charlie Oppenheim of the U.S. Department of State issued data reporting EB-5 visa usage to date in the 2012 fiscal year.  The top five countries using the EB-5 visa are:

1. China (3,710 visas issued to date)

2. South Korea (335 visas issued to date)

3. Taiwan (106 visas issued to date)

4. Venezuela (82 visas issued to date)

5. Iran (69 visas issued to date)

The State Department expects that EB-5 visa usage this year will be approximately 6,200.
